When we help others, we help ourselves.
Redstone Highlands offers a wide range of opportunities for people who are interested in volunteer service. If you would like to share your time to touch lives and benefit your community, Redstone Highlands may be the ideal place for you. Our volunteer crew is made up of friends who come to us from the surrounding community and of our own Redstone residents. We benefit from the help of volunteers whose ages range from the teen years through retirees. Volunteering is also an excellent way to spend time together as a family! If you are interested in sharing your time and talent to help others, consider some of the following volunteer opportunities:
-
Activity Helper: Run a special interest group for residents or help our staff
lead residents in a favorite game or past-time
-
Bus Driver for Trips & Outings: Drive the Redstone bus or your own vehicle
to take active seniors to dinner, shows and other entertainment
-
Chapel Leader: Take a turn leading a worship service for residents in our
on-campus Chapel
-
Escort to Doctor's Appointments: Ride along on the Redstone van with a resident
going out to an appointment at the doctor's office
-
Friendly Visitor: Stop by and spend some time visiting with one of our
residents
-
Gift Shop Cashier: Take a shift selling items in our gift shop to residents,
staff & visitors
-
And more. . .
Each campus has a variety of ways that volunteers can be involved. Whether you enjoy working with individuals, groups of people or are a "behind the scenes" kind of person, there is a volunteer job for you. If you would like to work with us, but are not sure how you can help, call and talk to our volunteer coordinator. We will be happy to explore the options and find the volunteer position that is best for you. Do you have a special talent or interest that you enjoy sharing with others? At Redstone Highlands, we are always looking for new and different ways to bring enjoyment to our residents. Tell us more about your particular talent. You may be just the person to bring brightness to someone's day through a volunteer job that is unique to you. Our volunteer positions can fit into a range of schedules. Whether you prefer to help us weekly, monthly or on an "on call" basis, there are volunteer options at Redstone. We will help you find one that fits well with your other activities. Orientation is provided to all of our volunteers. You will have a chance to meet with one of our volunteer coordinators, tour our facility and to find out about Redstone and the work volunteers do. Once we find a volunteer position that suits your interests and schedule, we will help you to learn that job and provide the resources and support you need to work with our residents and staff. Volunteers serve in a variety of capacities at each of our three facilities, in Greensburg, North Huntingdon and Murrysville. Contact the campus that is most convenient for you to find out what volunteer positions are available and suited to your interests.
