Dearest Friends Of Redstone,

The true test of commitment and mission is measured during the hardest of times. Redstone, like many individual households, was tested financially this past fiscal year, and like you, we had to establish prudent strategies going forward. Our greatest strength during such tough times has always been your trust in us, along with the many years of careful planning and forward thinking, helping us to avoid undesirable circumstances. We thank you for the faith you have in us!

I am pleased to report that Redstone remains faithful to our community commitment and continues to provide benevolent care to residents who have outlived their financial resources. During 2008, $2,200,000.00 of charitable care was provided to individuals entrusted in our care. Additionally, we continue our efforts in securing endowment funds to directly address this need in future years. Because others share our values, Redstone has received a generous challenge in addition to a single $1,000,000.00 gift to get us started.

Upon visiting our North Huntingdon campus, you will see the first phase of expansion at Redstone Colonial Estates. This exciting new villa home development offers a variety of unit styles and sizes. The 4,000 sq. ft. clubhouse features spacious gathering areas, a fitness center, and private dining for both casual and formal occasions. This past fiscal year, we acquired an additional 36 acres of land with the intention to introduce a villa program at our Murrysville campus.

This year we also unveiled our Eventide program in partnership with Family Hospice and Palliative Care, offering a more comprehensive focus on the end of life experience for both residents and family members. The Eventide program honors choice and promotes dignity in a comforting atmosphere.
