In response to the need to educate employees in health insurance trends, the Wellness team was formed in early 2003. Beginning in 2004, working hand in hand with HighMark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Wellness team sponsored programs in Managing Stress, Eat Well for Life, and HeartBeats. The most popular program to date, 10,000 Steps, started with 88 participants on September 1. During August the team conducted summer picnics at the three facilities. Of course, the menu provided health food options.Employees are provided with information and updates on a quarterly basis through the Wellness Watch newsletter. The future is currently being planned with expectations of exciting new programs and events.

Employee Health & Wellness Fair To kick off the Open Enrollment period, Human Resources will be hosting the Employee Annual Health & Wellness Fair. Human Resources, Wellness Committee Team Members, and representatives from over 15 provider organizations will be on hand to answer questions, provide information about benefit programs, services and membership opportunities. Health and wellness activities (such as strength tests, BMI's, blood pressure, stroke screenings and more!), giveaways and prizes, as well as food and beverage service will be offered at the event. |

DOVE Awards Redstone Highlands recognizes the achievements of employees in both their professional and personal lives. Through the DOVE (Distinction of Visible Excellence) Awards, employees receive recognition for these achievements at an annual event. Employees can be nominated for DOVE Awards by a co-worker, supervisor, resident, family member or visitor. |
